I have lived in Yorkshire all my life and have always loved reading. As a kid, I was always reading when I should have been doing something else and nothing has changed.

 

 Writing is my vocation, my love, my passion and my pleasure and I wish I'd done it years ago. I knew I was doing the right thing when I signed up for the Writers’ Bureau creative writing course. I’ve sold short stories to Take-A-Break’s Fiction Feast magazine and been shortlisted in a Writing Magazine short story competition.  Also, one of my novels was shortlisted in a Book Guild/Writing Magazine competition in August 2017.  

 

For most of my adult life I’ve worked as a dog groomer, interspersed with bouts of being a professional musician, playing drums and saxophone. They’re not really that compatible – dogs hate the noises saxes and drums make - well mine do (or maybe it’s how I play them).

So that’s me, following my dream of being able to write full-time in the not too distant future. We all need a dream. Preferably an achievable one.
